FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, continuing education in the field of real estate is very important and in most states a requirement. I recently just became Section 8 ( low income housing ) certified through IREM. I'm also fair housing certified. And I hold a "leasing for a living" certification. The laws change so often in real estate that continuing your education is top priority & I hold most of the certificates you can obtain in this field.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I decided to get into my line of work about 11 years ago when I started off as an asset manager for a 55,000 sq. ft. office building on S. 4th street in the Society Hill section of Center City Philadelphia. I was 19 or 20 years old when I knew that Real Estate was where I wanted to be, and it shows in all my daily tasks I perform in real estate. I take much pride in helping people find homes that they will share all there special memories in. I also take a lot of pride in making any investor successful so they can continue purchasing more investment properties.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My most common types of jobs come from owner/investors that have vacant houses that need there units filled quickly. Our specialty is coming into properties that may need work, using our vendors to do it, and make it "move in" ready . Once its fully ready for a new tenant, the leasing machines usually can fill a property within a week to 14 days depending on the location and market rent.
