FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We have a flat fee structure for trademark applications. We offer discounts for multiple applications. We offer other discounts.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, we have a phone consult or screen sharing session to discuss your proposed trademark. With 20+ years experience, I'm able to quickly identify issues, answer questions, and address concerns on the spot. We will discuss searching for any existing marks that may block your trademark application. We usually perform a direct hit search during the consult. We also discuss common law (unregistered) rights, and how they may affect your application and use of a potentially conflicting mark. I can explain to you the law (and associated risks) as it relates to others who are using the same or similar trademarks. I can also suggest changes to your proposed trademark to minimize increase chances of getting registered. If I choose to work with you, I do not charge for this consultation. Once your questions are answered, and you are comfortable with the issues, we move forward. I will collect the necessary information and review what you have to determine the best way for proceeding. I'll then give you an engagement letter identifying the scope of work and the quoted costs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a licensed attorney with 20 years experience in trademark and intellectual property law. I'm also a licensed patent attorney. I began working in trademark law while in law school in 1999. I was recruited by a boutique IP firm located in the Philadelphia Suburbs. I've had many federal cases, which you can review on my website. I was awarded a merit scholarship to Law School, where I graduated Cum Laude, and served on Law Review. I can practice in other ares, but Trademarks is my passion. I love helping clients.
