Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I bring decades of experience at a reasonable price. Many pipers with similar rates simply do not have the bagpiping experience that I do. Many pipers with similar experience cost significantly more. In addition to being a seasoned bagpiper, I have years of experience as a performer, which means I have an understanding of what you need beyond playing music well. I can read the situation, adapt to changes immediately, and provide a seamless service so that if something does go awry, your guests will never know it. Hearing how much it means to people to have a bagpipe player: whether it's because they've always liked the instrument, it's a family tradition to have a piper at important events, or they just wanted to impress their guests.

Everyone enjoyed and loved your performance at our wedding. Your bagpipes were just the addition that we needed. Thank you for everything that you did. We were disappointed only that you didn't want to stay and revel with us! WE RECOMMEND THIS BAGPIPER!!!

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Yes. I practice almost daily, I continually expand my repertoire. I follow the latest news in bagpiping.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

The majority of service that I provide is for weddings and funerals. Some common musical arrangements are processing before the bridal party; processing before the bride; playing at the altar before the ceremony; processing out before the bride and groom; and playing as the guests leave the chapel area. For funerals, common musical arrangements are processing before the coffin; playing at the altar or funeral parlor before the service; playing at the end of the service; and playing at the grave site, as the family arrives and departs.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

There are a lot of talented bagpipe players in Pittsburgh. Don't let a litany of competitions and awards intimidate you into overpaying for a musician. Also consider the musician's experience. Being a successful competitor demonstrates musical proficiency, but having extensive experience in a wide range of situations provides a professionalism that only years of experience can instill in a bagpiper.
