- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our rates depend on the number of musicians the client is requesting. A price of $1,500 per hour pertains to the full big band, including 1 vocalist. For additional fees, we can provide a full sound system, dinner hour music (live or canned), and stage and room lighting. We also offer a beginner swing dance lesson prior to our performance and the option of the instructor and a few of his dancers to stay on the dance floor to encourage the crowd to get up and dance! If anything else, the dancers provide another layer of entertainment for the crowd to enjoy. We offer smaller groups, too, from 1 to 10 musicians, ranging from a solo performer to various jazz combos to our "little" big band, Swingtet. Rates are lower for those groups, typically depending on the number of musicians and travel distance. Our minimum price for a solo performer for 1 hour is $275. However, a 2 hour performance for a solo performer is usually only $350.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We typically initially correspond with our new clients via email or phone. If requested, we are happy to meet with them in person. We want to know as much as possible about their event so we can customize our performance to their needs and wants.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our musicians are jazz and classically trained from some of the most impressive colleges and universities in the country. TJC has employed the finest musicians in the Pittsburgh area. Our men and women have collectively performed hundreds, if not thousands, of wedding ceremonies, receptions, and private events.
