We focus on doing a job correctly using quality materials. At the end of a job, we want everybody to be satisfied with the quality of the work, both customers, inspectors if needed, and ourselves. We look to do this at a fair price and guarantee our work for two years.
I get the most joy from doing a job that is well done and leaves my customers happy. I also enjoy that I'm doing something different all the time. One week I'll be building a fence, the next I'm remodeling a bathroom and the month after that, I'm doing a complete remodel of a house. I've even built a house from the ground up, including the electrical and plumbing and enjoyed most of it. (Amazingly, even the excitement of building a brand new house can get bogged down in the mundane of daily repetition.)

These guys are great. They were quick to respond and came over at a time convenient to me. The quote was extremely fair. After I hired them, they fit us in within 48 hours.
Theyou did two jobs for me, all for a reasonable price. And, the work was great. I could tell their knowledge and skill. I'll very step of the process was explained to me, and I learned a lot while they worked. In addition, the care they displayed for my home was on full display. From the way they cleaned up around the work site to the ways they washed their hands and scrubbed out our sinks after cleaning. Truly quality guys. They even had no problem with my bouncing puppy, though I kept her hidden much of the day because she enjoyed playing in drywall debris.
I'd recommend these two to anyone. They are fantastic.

We started to remodel our deck flooring and then we saw the big issue rotten boards ! Call Craig and he was at my house within an half hour, started the job that day ! Thank you so much ! Kind,professional and didn't rape my wallet!

Craig and crew did a fantastic job of rebuilding our back porch. The new structure is beautiful and so solid it will still be standing when the house itself crumbles. Also, Craig's designer eye improved on my original idea. And despite problems with the borough to get the show on the road, Craig stayed in touch and didn't move our project to the bottom of a wait list. I am very, very happy with the job and will use Craig and his crew on future projects.

I requested Dunn Carpentry and Contracting to build a pergola over our small pond to provide some much-needed shade. I let the owner know that it was an urgent need and they started the very next day! I am very grateful to them for their hard work. The pergola is just what we wanted and it looks great. I will gladly use this contractor for future projects and home repairs.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Somewhat. I determine my material costs, then estimate the total hours needed to finish a job and come up with my price.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked in the Carpenter's Union for 3 years, which involved a good deal of schooling in carpentry. I also have worked hand in hand with many top notch professionals in both carpentry and other building fields and have learned many aspects of the entire building process from them. Lastly, my degree in Biochemistry has not helped much, but the math classes that I have taken in college have been useful.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started reading about woodworking and got interested in the hobby. Soon I was building furniture in my garage. As I continued to get more bored with working in a chemistry lab, I decided to join the Carpenter's Union and do something that I actually enjoyed. After a few years with them and seeing how many people were laid off the better part of the year, I decided to go into residential home remodeling instead.
