These events normally suffer from poorly executed production teams resulting in less than stellar performance. I've partnered with Jim Layton and Qtown Concerts on numerous indoor and outdoor concert events over the past 5+ years. Event size has ranged from 50 to 400+ people. Jim and his crew are the real deal, 110% professional with excellent up to date equipment and very flexible and easy to work with. I found this so refreshing and always go to him first for any of our sound/lighting/concert needs. I've heard numerous bands vouch for the legitimacy of Quakertown Concerts and Jim's program by saying something like, "We love playing these events, Jim's the best sound guy ever!" Jim is one of the best organizers in the area. Every show he does sound for is a good one. He sets up light displays and works well with the performing bands. Always a good show with Layton.

I've worked at festburg with Jim and seen him in action at other events. He manages to be both extremely professional and chill at the same time. His lighting/production seriously enhances an event. He is on-time and works seemlessly with others. And you can tell he really digs what he's doing:)

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Event costs vary depending on the type of event, length of event and distance. A five-band concert normally spans 8-10 hours of work including set-up, sound check and tear-down. An event like this, located with 30 miles normally runs $400-600. We always discuss the details of the event and calculate the cost based on event specifics.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We continuously participate in seminars, read whitepapers, participate in industry groups and monitor the equipment manufacturers releases.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I saw a need for high-quality sound and lighting for the events that normally suffer from DJ-quality sound and lighting skills. Events suffered from lack of planning and poor execution. I knew what was needed to improve this and built a capable team to manage and produce live events.
