FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I base my pricing off of two factors; the first being the length of the lesson, and the second being how far I will be traveling to meet the student. My pricing is as follows: 30-minute lesson = $25; 45-minute lesson = $30; 60-minute lesson = $35; If an extra 5-10 minutes is required at the end of a lesson in order to go over something more fully or convey something, that is absolutely okay and will not cost extra. My priority is the student's benefit. It is only when I must travel more than 20 minutes to a student, that I will add $5 to the cost of the lesson to compensate for travel time and gas.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to find out what type(s) of music or particular artists/bands a student resonates with, as well as his/her attitude towards lessons and what they want to get out of them. My goal is to help the student feel confident that I as the teacher am aligned with his/her goals, and that I am there to help those goals be defined and realized. This promotes a relaxed yet excited attitude towards lessons.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been taking private music lessons since early childhood, on a variety of instruments. Throughout my high school years I took private guitar lessons, and continued my studies while attending Duquesne University, where I studied both classical piano and jazz guitar, and graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor's Degree of Music.
