- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
There really isn't no continuing education for this line of work, the only thing we do to stay on top of everything is always make sure we are up to date on our music and we have up to date equipment as well to provide our customer with the most memorable event as possible. We stay up to date from our speakers right up to our light set up and our laptops and mic's. We are there for the customer
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got into the line of work about 7 years ago, I started off small just doing a bar in my local area, and over the years I have expanded out, taking on a partner. With that partner we can book more events, plus we are able to interact with the crowd more instead of just standing be-hide the booth and playing music, we get out there with everyone and make sure they are having a great time. I feel you got to love what your doing in order to please your crowd and for them to have a good time, and we both love our job and enjoy seeing the smiles on everyones faces as they are out there having fun.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When you are going to hire the DJ, don't just hire someone that is the cheapest you can find, you want someone that is outstanding and that is good at what they do. Some Dj's charge a few hundred dollar's less then other ones, but ask your self is cheaper always better? I have found that when people call me and I give them a price they tell me well this person can do it a lot less, yes but are you getting the best dj around for your wedding, graduation party or anything you might have a dj for? No, with Firehouse Entertainment we have competitive rates, but sometime we are a little hire then other companies out there, but at the same time we take pride in what we do and make sure everything is perfect for you. With most dj companies you won't know who you are getting to DJ your event until the day of your event because they hire out to other people, with Firehouse Entertainment you get not only the DJ but the Owners as well so you know the people your getting to do your event. Me and my partner take pride in everything we do for you to make that event the most spectacular as it can be, we go above and beyond to do things most other dj's won't. So think twice before you higher a dj just because they are a little cheaper.
