Elya was great with communication. Despite email not being her preferred contact method, she still responded quickly and patiently answered all of our questions. She was great with my hair extensions and even gave me some pointers on putting them in myself. My only complaints with my hair were that I asked to have it cover my ears but instead she pinned it over them and I took out at least 30 pins- excessive for a half-back hairstyle, and not good for hair that breaks easily. I do have to say that we should have done our own makeup. The eyeliner ran, I had mascara on my face, there wasn't time for eyeshadow and she didn't use a setting spray so it didn't last. One of the other bridesmaids hair was flat before she even finished but she also washed her hair beforehand when she wasn't supposed to. I thought she would touch it up but never did. Elya was very nice and easy to work with and to her credit, she was working against a lot of humidity.

Hi! I'm sorry you weren't 100% pleased with your makeup. My products are waterproof, but due to the heat and everyone sweating I'm sure that caused the problem. I did in fact apply subtle eyeshadow which was requested of me when there was a time crunch. Reguarding pins in the hair with extensions, they are heavier and would have cause the style to fall without them, and as explained to cover the tracks of the extensions it had to be pinned in the manner it was at the ears. This is why I ask if everyone is satisfied with their style before I move on, which I was told was the case. The bridal party was understandably busy putting together this beautiful event, but being in the awful heat and sweating will not allow a hairstyle to hold. Following instruction to not wash your hair for events is incredibly important, and if for some reason you don't follow that it is even more important to not have damp hair. I was not given the option to touch up the bridesmaids fallen hair as the wedding was beginning and no one had the time to do so. Being delayed to start nearly two hours from arriving played a large factor in coming down to a crunch time. I am always happy to discuss issues, and am sure to check and double check that everyone is satisfied with their hair and/or makeup. I have to be told otherwise to adjust things. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Hair service pricing is dependent on services requested. For event hair and makeup a discount is applied when both services are scheduled. A standard $20 trial fee for any service applies and will be due at the time of the trial. Dependent on travel distance a travel fee will be applied.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When a new client reaches out we will begin with discussing the services that are desired. Once we have figured out the details I will provide a quote, and schedule a trial if the client would like one!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have held my Pennsylvania State Cosmetology license for 10 years with experience in hair styling, cutting, and chemical services (color/perms/relaxers etc). I have extensive training in makeup artistry, including prestige brands' national training.
