FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We are confident in our ability to provide competitive pricing without sacrificing customer service. I urge you to do your research. We are not the cheapest, or most expensive, but I can guarantee at the end of the day you will feel like you received the bargain of a lifetime. Because of this our rates are non-negotiable. Our pricing varies by what service you are inquiring about. We offer full service moving (truck/movers/equipment), load and unload services (you rent truck or portable moving solution and we provide the labor), packing, and many others. Not sure if we offer a service feel free to ask. A majority of moves are hourly rate multiplied by hours worked plus travel charge. All of our hourly rate jobs are three hour labor minimums with an additional travel charge. The travel charge is equal to the hourly rate and will vary depending on your origin and destination. Travel time is one an hour minimum but may be more depending on the starting and destination points of your move. It accounts for the time it takes us to travel from our office to your origin and from your destination back to our office. The labor hours start when we arrive at your origin and ends when you are happy with placement of all your belongings at destination. We do offer flat rate pricing (particularly popular with single pieces and portable storage solutions). The following are examples of services we WILL NOT charge extra for: -Stairs (reasonable amount with exception being specialty items/see examples below). -Disassembly and re-assembly of household furniture (Anything we take apart we will put together. Specialty items carry additional charges. We do not disassemble or assemble cribs or gym cable stations). -Fuel surcharges on hourly full service moves. -Furniture and home protection (included in quote exceptions listed below). -Equipment we use (all equipment needed included in quote). The following are examples of services/items that WE WILL charge additional for: -Any furniture we assemble that we did not disassemble. -Any new furniture you would like assembled. -Tolls. -Shrink wrapping of white upholstered furniture. Normal Furniture protection will not suffice for white fabric. It needs to be shrink wrapped to properly protect and transport. There will be an additional cost that and varies on piece. -Boxes for TVs. All TVs need to be in proper boxes to be transported properly. If you do not have the original box a specialty box must be purchased by you or from us. Range in price from $30-$50 depending on size of TV. Customer transportation is always an option. -Specialty items (pianos, large pieces of glass/stone/or similar will need special packing, heavy safes, some gym/exercise equipment that may require disassembly to move, etc) -Disassembly and reassembly of any specialty items. -Any packing materials we use (tape, mattress covers, shrink wrap, etc. optional on customers end and varies on what we use and quantity). -Storage (cost varies on length of storage and quantity). -Extra stops. Each move includes an origin and destination. Anything more will carry an additional fee. -Fuel surcharges on same day labor only load/unload (varies by distance from origin to destination) -Parking tickets/fines incurred during move. If moving into a city like Philadelphia where a permit may be required it is your responsibility to determine such. It is a nominal fee, often required, and easily obtained. Doing so will save you time on your move in turn saving you money. -Delayed/late/after hours moves. Any moves starting after 10AM are considered a delayed start, anything starting after 12PM is considered a late start, and anything starting after 2PM is considered an after hours start and will carry additional hourly rate fees. -Furniture pad rentals/sales (for storage, home renovation, and portable storage units. optional on customers end) Each job does require a non-refundable deposit. Every spot on our schedule is valuable. Putting down a deposit shows your commitment for the deal agreed upon and to set our schedule. A deposit is able to be transferred once to a new date as long as we have availability on the new date. For hourly jobs the deposit will be three labor hours and the travel charge for your job. For flat rate the deposit will be 20% of your quote.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
All moves start with a phone call lasting roughly ten minutes. During this call we will go over details of your move. I will advise you of any additional costs your move may incur and give you an estimate. All our estimates are free and require no commitment. We understand the stress of moving. We have a checklist and will guide you step by step to ensure the minimal amount of stress. Everything from office moves, to single items, to 5 bedroom homes, and auction house items will be treated with care and respect.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was an employee in the moving industry for one company for 8 years as well as providing contract labor for national van lines like Atlas and United before deciding to join The US Army. There the values and leadership skills needed to operate a business successfully were instilled in me. When I left Service I decided to pick back up where I left off. I re-connected with my old contacts at the van lines as well as companies local to my area. I provide labor for them as well as take on their overflow business. After many inquiries from customers as too why I do not start my own company I decides to do just that. A company is only as good as its employees. I go through a thorough vetting process for all my employees to include not only a background check by myself but also though the van lines we work for. Most companies are just looking for a warm body to fill a slot to be able to charge the customer more. I find the best and make sure they are taken care of to retain them. Currently we have contracts and agreements with multiple National van lines, retirement and assisted living communities, realtors, and apartment complexes.
