FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing isn't complicated, but will vary from one situation to another. I attempt to be flexible, and work with as many people as I can. Some can afford more, others can't, and I do my best to provide equal service to both. However, if you answered "I'm not sure yet" to multiple questions on the initial Thumbtack survey, and I didn't bid on your project, then you may wish to contact me privately to discuss what I may or may not be able to do to help you. Sometimes photographers will agree to a certain job in order to bolster their portfolio, or add a special look to their gallery. But since we all strive to make a living (doing what we love), there's a fine line between taking the jobs we love and taking the jobs that pay the bills. If you already know exactly what I'm talking about, then we'll probably get along great!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, and regularly attend both classes and regional events. When time permits, I also routinely watch tutorials on both CreativeLIVE and KelbyOne.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If you are shopping exclusively by price, you'll probably get what you pay for. But in my experience, with any type of Art (which is very subjective), the best way to get what you want is COMMUNICATION. If I know what you want, and what you like, I will have a much better chance to offer you something that meets your needs.
