Ed Wallace was hired to renovate the kitchen in my home which required removal of a wall, custom cabinetry and movement of all major appliances. I felt this was a unique project because of its complexity, and based on a friends recommendation, I hired Ed for the job. As it turned out, hiring Ed ended up being one of the best decisions I made on the entire project.
This job had major challenges from start to finish. From uneven flooring to a cantilever that had to be leveled, Ed met each challenge every step of the way and consulted with me throughout the job as I had requested. Ed was reliable throughout the entire job from the initial proposal phase, throughout the completion of the job including the final clean-up. He was always punctual, completed the job on time and on budget and his attention to detail and craftsmanship was second to none.
I consider the project a complete success with Ed playing an integral role and recommend Ed for any carpentry or home renovation projects.

I hired Ed Wallace to renovate my basement in 2012 which included reframing walls, building a faux bump-out to camouflage a cement beam, installing new drop ceilings, demo-ing existing bathroom, and install all new tile (walls and floor), as well as new fixtures and lighting. He also did all the finishes, and trim, including installing wanes-coting, staining and painting.
He used one assistant and was extremely neat, clean, and reliable. The quality of his craftsmanship was top among the best I ever received from a contractor and he is delightful to interact with. His price was fair, and he completed his work on schedule. He even went out of his way to exchange/return all the left over tiles in the Bronx.
He gave great advice on some of the design and materials and especially appreciated how much pride he took in the finished product and his work, and followed up to make sure I was happy with everything and to remind me he will come back if there are any issues. I would definitely recommend him and use him again myself should I do additional work in my home.

I hired Ed Wallace to build and install a custom cabinet to fit a tricky space in my master bathroom. Ed first looked at the space and gave me some options as to what would work. Ed is a terrific communicator and a problem solver. He explained the options in detail, with careful consideration of the space, budget, and materials. He built and installed a beautiful cabinet in my master bathroom that maximized the available space and matched it to the already existing cabinets. Ed's work is precise, neat, and very clean. He takes all the necessary precautions to make sure all things go well. He is always thinking two steps ahead.
While Ed was completing the custom cabinet, it came up that he also does tile work. I was looking for someone to take on two back splashes, one in my kitchen, and a second in the master bathroom. Each backsplash had some unique features and I wanted to use a glass tile in the kitchen and a marble tile in the bathroom. Ed was easily adaptable to each job, type of tile, and the unique space. Ed is a consummate professional, he is a terrific communicator, does great work, and comes through on everything he says.

Ed installed a desk in my home office. I wanted a simple look and he helped me think of best fit and install to keep it clean and open. Had to incorporate base board heat when putting in cabinet and it all came out great. Helped me keep costs down by recommending options.

Ed is such a talented carpenter ! He measured the odd space where I needed a built in cabinet, sketched it out, discussed a couple potential options and then once the final design was firmed up he arrived and installed it! The final product looked even better than I thought it would ! He's great about knowing where to add a certain design feature and what hardware goes best with what, etc. Talented, easy to work with, makes a minimal mess - I highly recommend Ed!
