FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
ShawnLawn pricing is based on property size, condition, and service frequency — not just square footage alone. We aim to provide high-quality, consistent lawn grooming at a fair and competitive rate. Factors that affect pricing: • Lot size and amount of turf • Grass height and overall condition • Terrain, fencing, obstacles, and edging detail • Frequency of service (weekly service offers the best value) • Additional services like hedge trimming, cleanup, mulch, etc. First-time cuts or overgrown lawns may require a reset fee. This allows us to bring the property back to a professional standard before moving into regular maintenance. We reward consistency. Customers on weekly or biweekly plans receive better long-term pricing than one-time or sporadic service requests. No surprise fees. Clear communication. Reliable scheduling. We don’t cut grass — we groom it.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1️⃣ Initial Contact & Property Details We gather basic information about your property — size, current condition, service frequency, and any specific concerns or goals you have for your lawn. 2️⃣ On-Site Assessment (or Photo Review) For first-time service, we evaluate grass height, turf type, soil condition, edging needs, and overall maintenance level. This allows us to price accurately and avoid surprises. 3️⃣ Clear Quote & Service Plan You’ll receive transparent pricing along with a recommended service frequency (weekly is best for lawn health and value). If the lawn is overgrown, we may recommend a reset cut before starting regular maintenance. 4️⃣ Professional Service Day We arrive on schedule, mow at the proper height, edge cleanly, trim carefully, and blow off all hard surfaces. We don’t rush jobs — we groom them. 5️⃣ Ongoing Maintenance & Communication We prioritize consistent scheduling and proactive communication. If weather or delays occur, you’re notified. Our goal is long-term lawn health, not just a one-time cut.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In addition to hands-on field experience, I’ve completed irrigation installation seminars through Century Rain Aid, where I studied proper system design, installation standards, and water efficiency practices. I also consistently study turf management principles specific to Lowcountry grasses like St. Augustine, Bermuda, Centipede, and Zoysia — focusing on mowing height, seasonal timing, soil conditions, and fertilization strategy. I believe lawn care is more than cutting grass. Understanding how irrigation, mowing practices, and turf health work together leads to better long-term results for homeowners. Education in this industry never stops, and I’m committed to continually improving my knowledge to better serve my clients.
