Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am experienced in training and working with dogs of all types for over forty years. I began training and showing Border Collies when I was 10 years old. I later worked with my brother who owned and showed Newfoundlands, and then added German Shepherds to my list. I have trained for agility, obedience trials, and helped with dogs who need general obedience training that simply makes them better behaved pets. I have also worked with horses, goats, sheep, alpacas, and llamas. I have been riding since I was five, and moved into training other horses and giving riding lessons to children. I have participated in english and western pleasure, cross country jumping and three day eventing. I am familiar with keeping every horse happy, healthy, and in the best condition they can be. I do my own stall cleaning, grooming, and am comfortable giving medications including shots if needed. I have always been able to have success with the most difficult animal who many had given up hope for. I am willing to go the extra mile to make certain your pet is happy, healthy and received the exact type of care you expect and that he is accustomed to with his owner.

Was happy with the services of Valerie. She took good care of my dog while I was away for holiday.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Receive as much info as possible before the visit. Meet with owner and pet to create trust and confidence for the pet. Set up contacts for emergency situations, review medical or emotional needs. Review my terms and the needs of the customer for details and modifications. Offer my suggestions for care/training and review with owner for their approval.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Individuals with one or several pets who need care during their owners absence. This may be during the day for walks and bathroom breaks, or longer for travel with feeding, and complete care. Training normally at the owners home working with one or more dogs to develop behaviors that make the best fit for the owner and the health and safety of the dog.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Look for a sitter/ caregiver who you are comfortable with and your pet is comfortable with. Expect the caregiver to follow your directions, but they may offer advise in a matter, but it should always be your choice if you wish to follow their advise. Look for a caregiver who asks questions about your family and your pet so they can better understand what will make your dog happy during your absence. Expect your pet to respond positively when you return home, whether it is for a day or a week. Pets who are withdrawn or have changed behavior could be a sign that the caregiver has intimidated, or handled them in a rough manner.
