Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am very creative and love to live life. My photos capture natural looks instead of being staged. I like people who are being themselves and having fun. Planning weddings is so much fun and I enjoy it because I work closely with my best friend and two heads are better than one when coming up with everything needed. Seeing everything from paper to photos and being there on the day of is so energizing! For marrying people, I just love being part of that special day. I have been married over 10 years and I customs create ceremonies according to the couple. Everyone is so different and I want the ceremony to reflect them. The creating, meeting people and being social. I love seeing my work come to life! I have, over the years, worked with all kinds of people with budgets small to large and we always are able to bring (what we can) what they want to fruition. You only get one special day and you have to make the most of it. From a small beach wedding to a plantation "la fete", we can create magic.

We hired Lauren to be both our preacher on the beach (Folly) and photographer for the after party on Folly Beach Pier. Lauren was easy to work with up front, humorous and laid back, which really helped in the final days leading up to the wedding. I really liked the way she did the sand ceremony and encouraged us to write our own vows. She was a terrific officiant! After the wedding we did several set up shots and candids. I think she shot over 500 pics, and we down selected 199 from the 6 hour event to share with friends, a photobook and keepsakes. She was also reasonable in her price for the dual assignment. The only thing I would suggest to take it to the next level, is maybe prepare the list of must have pictures in advance. You'll never remember it during the festivities:)

My wife and I couldn't be happier Lauren did a wounderful job helping us decide what kind of wedding to have what to say. My wife and I originally decided to plan a small wedding but with Lauren's help she made a small wedding that much better with small touches. She was extremely friendly and helpful!

Lauren was wonderful. She was friendly and very excited to work with us. She answered all our questions kindly every step of the way. She was full of ideas and ready to help in anyway and always patient with our indecisiveness. For the ceremony she was on time and ready to go when we were. Overall a great experience and we've already recommended her to two of our engaged friends.

Lauren was hired to do headshots for a website. She was on time, professional, personable and very easy to work with her. She was flexible with the scheduling and place of the shoot. The pictures she delivered promptly were of good quality (especially considering what she had to work with in a subject, me!) and I would hire her again and recommend her to others.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

Being Southern and raised in Charleston, we are bred to be the ultimate hostess. Party planning just comes naturally. My photography started when I was younger and I always had a camera with me. I still do that now. I have one in my car all the time and I have another that I use for regular shots and then I have a fancy one with lenses that I shoot with for bigger things. My marrying people came from being a notary and my cousin wanted me to marry her and her husband. It was so much fun that I started to do more of them and, eventually, became an Ordained Minister. Whether you want non-denominational, spiritual or whatever, I can come up with a ceremony to suit you, with your input of course :)

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Small businesses have more time to devote to you than large companies and are better able to work in a short amount of time as well as within a budget because we do not have the overhead that the larger companies do. Be sure that when you speak with someone, that it is not someone that just says YES to everything. You want a people person and undivided attention and someone creative working for you.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

I am a people person, someone that others flock to because I am easy to talk to and I listen to what people want me to know. I never try to force anything upon anyone and I work all the time, so I am always available to answer any question, although you may have to text me. I have heard everything, so it would be refreshing to hear some wild ideas come up ! HA ! You would be amazed at what we can rent. And, I work well under pressure, so if you want to get married next month, bring it! I had a custom bouquet made within 30 minutes just by begging. Yep, I will stoop to begging if I need something. Its all about you and your needs. From wedding planning, to photography ( zit on face, bam! gone!) to officiating a wedding, I love doing it.
