- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I grew up a little tom boyish, building forts in the woods and in trees, taking old wooden boards and plastic to build rafts with my brother, Tony so we could float down a little tiny canal across the street from where we grew up. I had a sister named Cindy who loved dolls, barbies, and play houses. Well, I never liked to play with dolls, but loved decorating her doll houses by using a Sears & Robuck or JC Penny catalog to cut out things to make a fireplace or a mantle, use pictures of patterns for wallpaper. Just everything imaginable! I loved making paperdolls for her from those catalogs too! I suppose my imagination of colorful pretty things, and loved working with my hands gave me a raw talent. I was fortunate along the way as I became an adult and mother, I was abke to be a stay at home mom. I began showing off my talents by volunteering at her elementary school working with the children by decorating stages for every program, doing arts, crafts, science fairs, you just name it, I did it with much love along with it! My husband and I built many homes, and I did a pretty good job on my own without a decorator. We won several Parade of home prizes. I had no idea I had this hidden talent. I started decorating for every holiday there was, and everyone in my family's houses, then neighbors, friends, and everywhere! For Free!!! I have no idea! I got bored after my daughter went off to college, then medical school, and now a doctor, I decided to start charging for my talents and open a business of my own. Little did I know then, I became who I am now!

- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Again, a natural eye is the best decorator or designer out there! My business is quite unique since I do both Contract Commercial work and residential work. This allows me to buy direct, without a middle person. I am not a store, allowing me litterally no overhead, therefore that gives me tons of ways to save my clients money!
