FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
If it is a long term assignment, then I am willing to give a substantial discount on my price.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First things first: get to know the client. Afterwards, plan a personal program to set achievable goals with timelines.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a Latin American Studies and Spanish major at George Mason University, and a bilingual Air Traffic Controller at Howard AFB, Panama (USAF). Shortly after returning from Panama, I was hired by the Department of Justice as a Spanish Language Specialist and worked in Washington, DC, before transferring to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). My continuing education is mostly via travel and through my music business. This past year, 2017, I went to Guatemala for the 4th time in 5 years as an interpreter for Catholic Charities (Diocese of Charleston, SC) in support of the ongoing medical mission in San Pedro La Laguna. Four years ago I spent 6 weeks in Northern Spain, and last year 3 1/2 weeks in Madrid and Barcelona. I am a 20 year voting member of the Latin Grammys--attended this year's event in Las Vegas--own a bilingual record label, Wicker Records, and three music publishing companies: El Horizonte, SESAC, Nuevo Horizonte, BMI, and Wicky Wak, ASCAP. Still trying to get my first Grammy. Maybe 2018?
