- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do not have a standard pricing. Initially, I tried to do a standard pricing system, but found it was not effective. A 25 sq ft backsplash can take 3 or 4 days depending on the custom design, whereas a 25 sq ft floor may take 1 day tops. Each job is evaluated individually.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer to see the project before giving a quote. There are lots of little things when installing tile that most people do not consider; the way the tile is laid out, transition pieces to wood/carpet/etc, tight corners, intricate designs on backspashes (to include multiple outlets), plumbing lines through the floor, uneven surfaces just to name a few. It really helps if I can discuss this with the client ahead of time instead of being caught off-guard.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I spent a half year as an apprentice, then transitioned to establishing my own trade, which I did for 4 years in Omaha, Nebraska. I joined the army and moved around, ending up in this area. During that time I helped several friends and family with their tiling jobs, to include personal upgrades to my own home.
