FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
This field changes frequently so part of the work is to stay current with the latest trends, software, and threats. As a member of American Marketing Association, Scrum Alliance, Knoxville Agile, and Social Media Club of Knoxville I use many of the opportuities provided to continue to learn and network. I also regularly learn from Michael Hyatt, Doug Addison and my voice over mentors and business coaches.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My B.F.A in Electronic Media was originally earned to become a sound engineer, but I realized that I didn't want to spend 8-10 hours a day in a dark recording studio alone and I saw that I was already promoting shows, events, doing album covers, managing bands and projects, creating commercials, doing voice overs, writing, and connecting people and opportunities for business and pleasure. Genuine Promotion was what I was already doing, so I just made it 'official' by giving it a name and have been doing it ever since!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
The main thing that I think is important is to find someone who understands what you needs and goals are and is more interested in helping you reach them than in trying to get your needs and goals to fit into a 'box' that they prefer. It is critical to make sure that your needs and goals are the priority.
