But my big key to the exterior work is not just painting for looks it's prepping the house and painting it for protection and longevity. I've hired George Hamby for several indoor and outdoor painting projects at my house. In every case, I was highly satisfied with the work quality and efficiency. His crew is excellent and well supervised. They arrive when they say they will. Their pre-painting prep work is top-notch -- and that is a sometimes overlooked key to getting a long-lasting good result to the job. They use high quality materials and tell you in a straightforward way where it's appropriate to use one type of finish vs. another. The jobs were all done on schedule and very much in accord with the pre-work estimates of cost. Their workmanship is excellent. If you need painting in the greater Knoxville / Maryville area, you would do well to call George Hamby.

George Hamby Painting is a very professional painting service. It is a well discipline, highly skilled, and a very experienced organization. We hired George to paint our interior lower level, which involved old dry walls, new crown molding, and trim; a large exterior deck and trim; two stairways; plus wash the exterior of our two story house. His professional advice was most helpful in deciding on specific paints and methods for both interior and exterior of house. The six man crew arrived on time, was pleasant, and accomplished all tasks as scheduled. Their workmanship was outstanding and Georges pre-work cost estimate remained firm. For the second time, we used George Hamby and his crew to prepare a residence for sale. He understands that objective and does not confuse it with redecorating. Every job has so many variables and people have different expectations. This makes the bid process very difficulthe with out physically seeing and measuring the project to be done
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
* Like to speak with the customer about the project details so I can get a feel for what they envision. * Like to meet with the customer & look at the project to get clear expectations of what they are looking for. * Work up an estimate for them with an honest & fair price. * Email an estimate to customer to make sure everything is good.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I get things to study in the mail. I go over products data sheets. Also if there is any classes I can make it to I do.
