- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I decided to be 100 percent happy with what I did for a living, and to love who I did it with and who I did it for. Also it's important for me to use both sides of my brain and a combination of my senses. Hair and makeup satisfy me on all levels and they are really my favorite things to do. Period.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Blended, dimensional color, blonding, retexturizing, men's cuts, and special event hair and makeup.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I always love to pleasantly surprise. The last wedding I did was on-site at the Cadre Building Downtown Memphis required 7 updos and 2 makeup applications in 3.5 hours. According to the bride, everyone's hair stayed up beautifully all night, even her mother's--who danced like she was a teenager again! The bride was so pleased at how everyone's hair and makeup looked and how smoothly the wedding prep went, that she trusted me to cut her waist-length locks off (that she had been growing out for the wedding) to donate to Locks of Love. It's these very connections that make my clients' special days feel like my special day as well.
