Our son (percussion) and daughter (piano) and I (percussion) have had lessons with Zig over the past four years. Zig is more about learning and goals than teaching, and he's effective. He pays attention to the person/learner as much as he does technique, groove and theory all of which are amazing. Zig has a ton of varied experience as band-member, institutional and contracted instructor, composer, studio and leader and it allows him to play the correct card into the learner's hand to meet the learner right where they need to connect along his developmental path. We have built chops and feel, respect for the creative process and everyone involved, ensemble, interplay, honoring the purpose, balancing the fun with the responsibility of craft, the list goes on. Work with Zig and you're going to be a better player, and a better person. Enjoy!

My son has been taking drum & piano lessons from Zig for about 2 years. What a wonderful teacher Zig is! My son has learned SO much & looks forward to his lessons every week. Zig is the most peraonable and giving teacher. He has found great talent in my son and released a passion for percussion that I am so proud of. If you have any doubt, this guy loves to teach what he is great at. Zig is the best.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Lessons are offered as a 30 minute or 60 minute sessions at my teaching studio. Lessons at your location are only available as a 60 minute session, and pricing for this type of lesson depends on the total travel distance to your location.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I suggest anyone interested in lessons to call direct. This way I can answer their questions based on their needs and goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been involved in music education for decades, as a private music instructor, a music clinician, a music and technology workshop leader, a professional development leader conducting various music based workshops, an author, a specialist working with special needs students, and a working professional musician.
