Hello, I'm Chloe! I fell in love with books before I could read. Some of my earliest memories are of folding sheets of paper into tiny books, fascinated by the way stories could come to life.
Since then, that fascination has grown into a love of both writing and editing. I’m a Nashville-based editor studying Editorial Publishing at Belmont University, where I’ve developed experience working with small publishers and freelance editors. I approach every project with empathy, curiosity, and enthusiasm, and I love helping authors bring their stories to their fullest potential.
While much of my professional experience is in nonfiction memoir, I also have a soft spot for speculative fiction, middle grade, and young adult literature. As an author currently writing my own young adult fantasy novel, I understand both the excitement and vulnerability of sharing your work with an editor.
Here are my credentials:
- B.S. in Editorial Publishing at Belmont University (in progress), 4.0 UW
- Editor for the nationally recognized Belmont Story Review
- More than 250 hours of copyediting and proofreading experience across ten manuscripts for Abingdon Press
- Subcontracted as a proofreader for freelance editors
- Experienced with style sheets, Track Changes, file cleanup, editing macros, and Adobe Acrobat
- Proficient in The Chicago Manual of Style and Associated Press (AP) style
- Member of the Editorial Freelancers Association
When I'm not editing, you'll usually find me writing fiction, practicing fiber arts, drawing, tending to my garden, or taking care of my cats and my African dwarf frog.
