Introduction: I grew up watching my grandpa and father always have a camera in their hand. So, naturally, I was drawn to capturing images, and haven't looked back since. I have a masters in Commercial Photography from Ohio University. I offer many different photography options in the Durham area including head shots, studio rentals, and much more.

John Michael is phenomenal! His work is beautiful, he’s a delight to work with (charming even the moodiest of toddlers), and he has some of the fastest turnaround time I’ve experienced working with many event and family photographers. I recommend him to everyone — he can make magic happen despite even terrible lighting circumstances, he’s excellent at capturing all varieties of subjects (Party details? No problem! Stylized food? His specialty! Family portraits? The best! Candids we’ll cherish forever? Covered!), and he’s just a joy to be around in general.

Working with Simpson Photo was one of the best professional experiences I’ve had in Nashville so far. They were so helpful and accommodated every need we had to have a successful shoot.
