Introduction: First, take a breath............you've already taken a huge step just by visiting this site. Hopefully you will find an attorney that makes you feel comfortable, and hopefully that's us. When you're ready, give us a call and we'll schedule your free, confidential consultation. During that consultation we'll go over what your next steps could or should be. What you can expect from the legal process, what's important to you and most importantly, we'll answer any questions that you might have. We know that choosing from all of the available lawyers in Nashville, or even just here on Thumbtack, can be a daunting process. Remember to pick someone you feel comfortable with, someone you'll feel comfortable sharing this process with. It's important to find an attorney that focuses on civil and domestic law. Also, it's important to make sure that your lawyer is familiar with the court system for your area, each county has it's own specific requirements when it comes to family and estate law. Kathy Everette is a native Middle Tennessean who has been practicing family and estate civil law in Davidson, Wilson and Williamson Co for almost 20 years. She understands the personal and legal ramifications of a divorce. She will always try to help you find the best, and easiest, solution for your family.....but if that doesn't work, she will fight with everything she is to win your case. A note from Kathy - Helping people find peace, comfort and happiness in their lives is why I practice law. Whether you're going through a divorce, fighting to spend more time with your children, or trying to write your own will to ensure your family is cared for in the future......I am here to walk through these difficult times with you, and help you navigate your way to the peace both you and your family deserve.

Family Law Attorney

I do not usually do reviews but I had to do this one. Hired Kathy then had a change of heart, nothing that she did wrong, I just felt I needed someone closer to where I live for various reasons. I can see she was ready to go fight for me in court if it reached to that point. Kathy was very professional and caring and she understood. She is an excellent communicator and I am happy that I was able to meet her and took her advice. Highly recommend her.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Every case, and every client, is different. You will find that most law offices in Middle TN begin every case with a retainer fee. This is an amount that you, the client, and your attorney will agree on during your first meeting. That amount will be based on many things, such as, the type and complexity of your case, and the estimated amount of work (hours) required.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

First meeting, either via phone or in person, generally lasts about 30 minutes and is FREE to the client. At that time we will discuss the needs of their individual case and come up with a plan of action to move forward. We at Everette Law will always do everything in our power to resolve our clients issues as quickly and as peacefully as possible, but know that if necessary we will fight tooth and nail for our clients and their families.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Bachelor of Science from David Lipscomb University, Major: Accounting; Law Degree/License in Tennessee; Rule 31 Mediator; and years of experience practicing family and estate law in Middle Tennessee.
