FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$35 per lesson. Lessons are usually about an hour, but if we're onto something, I won't cut it off. I'll ask when student is 'saturated'. Most importantly, I don't charge by the hour, it's per lesson. I'm very flexible with lessons. If something comes up and you need to reschedule, no problem. Some times the day of, but hopefully a day in advance. Just text me & we'll work things out.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I'll start you at the beginning of information, so you have context of what is happening. You'll know why you're playing what you're playing. I'll make sure you understand what is happening before moving on. I call it mechanics, which covers technique, chord voicings, proper fingering, and the all intimidating music theory, which is not so intimidating as you might think. Once you catch on, lots of doors get busted down and all those letters and numbers become music and it's lots of fun.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been a professional musician since 1977, but have been playing since 1969. I'm not formally trained as a teacher, but I can explain things so that they're understood. I play several instruments, and have been involved with music for most of my life. I've played in lots of bands, marching band, orchestra, show bands, rocknroll, country bands, jazz, top-40, acoustic, songwriter situations, etc. I'm a songwriter/producer as well, with a few placements in television, and was an independent producer for songwriters for 13 years.
