About
Hi! I'm Matt and I want to teach YOU and your family members how to play guitar! I have toured the world with star artists such as Hunter Hayes and Mickey Guyton and am currently teaching virtually from my home studio, and in person here in Nashville, Tennessee. With more than a decade of professional music instruction and performance experience, I have the tools and energy to make learning music fun and purposeful for all students! My students have gone on to attend Berklee College of Music, record and release albums of original music, and win numerous Battle of the Bands competitions against other student bands. It is inspiring to watch students grow musically and develop their natural talents in a fun atmosphere! I love igniting that spark in students that creates a lifetime of love and appreciation for music.

Only had one lesson so far but I have found Matt communicative and professional. He kept things on track, didn't waste a moment and gave my grandson a full hour's worth of valuable instruction. Very pleased so far.

I think it would be hard to find a more supportive, committed, and student-centered music mentor than Matt. He "gets" kids and he knows how to be empathetic when needed, or when to push kids to grow. In terms of musicianship, Matt is top-notch. A sought-after professional guitarist player who studied at Berklee, he's also done vocals professionally, as well as percussion and keys. Besides being coached by Matt in her band, our daughter worked with him to produce both individual recording sessions and an EP. In all cases, it was Matt who did the sound production, but he also helped her launch and market her product. In a word, Matt knows the process like the back of his hand, from songwriting to recording to live performance, all the while never losing focus on the kids and their needs. The best!

Matt is a talented and knowledgeable instructor. Even more importantly, though, he is authentically engaged, and inspirational in his dedication to his art. His flexibility and low-key demeanor are a perfect match for my teenage son.

Matt is my son's guitar teacher and band coach. Matt is awesome! My son and I adore him. Matt really connects with his students through an approachable style and great sense of humor. He is truly interested in their success. Matt is experienced, enthusiastic and creative. He helps my son choose the type of music that he is both interested in and that suits his playing style. This makes lessons fun and productive. With this kind of support and guidance, it is no surprise to me that my sons band won The Battle of the Bands two years running. Bottom line, Matt is a wonderful and trusting person and an amazing teacher and a mentor for my son.
