- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Usually charge based on time and materials. Fixed sum competitive costs for some installations as prescribed by Thumbtack or at the request of the customer. Or will provide fixed cost estimates upon customer request after obtaining more information from a site visit for an initial fee that will be credited to the project cost, if customer accepts the estimate.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Contact the customer and discuss details of their project. If requested, quote a fixed price to complete some projects. On more involved projects, quote an hourly price - then upon arrival at the customer location, review the requirements and the conditions of the situation. Provide the customer with a review of the work to be done and obtain customer approval to proceed either on an hourly bases or fixed price agreement. Obtain customer sign off and payment when project is complete. All materials are charged at cost.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Hands on training for furniture and mechanical assembly, doing electrical/plumbing work that does not require a licensed electrician, certified plumber or HVAC certified technician. Worked 6 years as subcontractor for a national satellite TV company to repair damages caused by their technicians on residential and commercial locations. Everything including the yards, exterior walls and interior (walls, ceilings and floors), cut wires, broken pipes, damaged HVAC ducts. Everything from the slab/foundation through roof . Retired Professional Engineer. Certified property inspector, member of SoFI.
