Bryan is an honest and knowledgeable professional. He responded and scheduled us within 20 minutes of us requesting help. He arrived on time, analyzed the issue of our air conditioner not cooling properly. He identified two solutions, one short-term and the other long-term. We got our freon filled to an appropriate level (short term solution) and will have the leak identified, then the part replaced, likely the coils, in a few months (long term). We plan to use him again - his prices are fair, and his expertise allows you to get relief, knowing he will offer the solution to the problem long-term.

Brain from Vy Mechanical was on time and read my problem report and was super well prepared with everything he needed to fix my problem with drain line. He fixed the problem and was in and out in record time. Very fair price too. PS: Also no upselling or trying to get me to replace my AC unit like I have seen over and over lately.

I contacted Vy’s mechanical late one evening because my AC was not cooling. Bryan indicated that if the system is not holding Freon it would probably need to be replaced and asked if I could send a photo of the tag on the unit. I did and from the tag he could see that it used R-22 refrigerant which is obsolete. He offered an alternative and gave me a quick estimate, which I accepted. The next day Brian arrived and upon examining the unit determined that the capacitor was out so he replaced that and the unit started cooling. He also had looked at the air handler and noted that the drain line wasn’t correct so he cut a piece of pvc to fix that to ensure that its works as designed to keep water pushed down the drain line. By the time he did that, the temperature inside had dropped 2 degrees and he was satisfied that it was working properly. The cost was about 10% less than adding refrigerant and reasonable for the service. I made some notes in his contact info in my contacts and will give Bryan Vy a call next time I need HVAC service. He’s an Arlington resident so I was happy to be supporting local small business.
