FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All pricing is based on word count. Copyediting is $.02-$.03 per word for one or two passes. Line Editing is $.03-$.04 per word for one or two passes. Developmental Editing is $.02-$.03 per word for one or two passes. Manuscript Critiques are $.01 per word for one pass. All services require a 50% deposit at the time of booking.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, we will do a sample edit of the project's first thousand words, so the client can see what their feedback will look like and approve the level of editing needed. Next, a contract covering the scope of the edit, fees, and deadlines is submitted to the client. Once the contract is signed, and the deposit is paid, the document is sent via email. Questions may be asked during the editing process, which will be submitted via email. Finally, the project is completed and returned to the client on the designated date.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from the University of North Texas with a bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in creative writing and a minor in social sciences, focusing on psychology and political theory. After I graduated from UNT, I joined the Editorial Freelancer's Association and trained to be an editor through their education courses.
