FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I painted a mural Freshman year in college and saw the transformation of space happen right then. So I went from Graphic Design to Interior Design as a major. I enjoyed the problem solving, spatial thinking, mathematics, as well as learning about Frank Lloyd Wright. I then switched to architecture and never looked back.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I do fully believe in the celebration of life, so if you aren't excited after one round of design then the designer is not doing their job and it is time to part ways.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Having patience early in the creative process can save you unbelievable amounts in the future. Invest in a good designer. We are trained to think about spatial, material, and energy efficiency, as well as provide aesthetic solutions (read that as "resale value"!).
