About
As a business law professor with 17 years’ experience, I hold a doctorate in law and a post-doctoral degree in Alternative Dispute Resolution. I have also published some of the leading journal articles used by mediators and arbitrators. However, as an experienced practitioner I recognize the limits of legal theory. Thus, I bring a unique combination of theory and real-world practice, combining to create a highly pragmatic, results-oriented approach. In the classroom I excel at making difficult legal topics easy to understand, this dedication to simplicity and clear communication also helps my clients better understand the dispute resolution process.
I provide professional mediation and arbitration services designed to help individuals and businesses resolve disputes efficiently, fairly, and cost-effectively. This dedication to efficiency is illustrated in my pricing which, while Thumbtack requires a stated hourly rate, utilizes a one-time flat fee. This pricing structure avoids the incentive to needlessly drag out the process which wastes the client’s time, money, and makes it harder to reach agreement. My practice includes resolving disputes in the following fields: consumer, family, employment, landlord/tenant, personal injury, and business-to-business.
As a mediator, I excel at clarifying misunderstandings, ascertaining hidden underlying issues, and drafting mutually beneficial resolutions. As an arbitrator, I embody the principle of neutrality, listening to both sides and adjudicating disputes in a manner that recognizes the human element at play. I truly take pride in helping clients avoid the lose/lose outcome from a traditional trial.
As a research professor I have a flexible schedule that allows me to arrange meetings at times that are convenient for my clients. This also provides my clients with a more efficient, streamlined process, so that they can move on with their lives as fast as possible.
If you are ready to start a mediation or arbitration, don't hesitate to reach out. My pricing will remain less than 50% of the market rate until I build up to 10 reviews on Thumbtack.

I’m not sure how but he really got the other side to see where I was coming from which resulted in a mutually beneficial agreement in less time than I thought it would take.
