True. They combed our neighborhood Monday ( which is against our rules). I had already gotten two estimates. They gave me a bid 40-50% less. Jeremy Soliday was the arborist. Alex was the crew leader. They clearly told me the way they could offer this price was my willingness to be flexible with scheduling. I did want to be present when they were at my house. It was 5 pm when the called and said they were on their way. 6 guys. The equipment was clean and appeared to have been sprayed with disinfectant. (Very important). They did everything without my intervention or supervision. They even did some extras that I asked for on the spot. They cleaned up and were gone before dark. Hire with confidence.

I had five large cedar trees removed. The work was performed all in one day from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. The men are very good at their dangerous, heavy work. Their were power lines involved on my property and also a little birdhouse with eggs and mamma and daddy in it and it was totally taken care of!! The men are quick and careful and cleaned up the premesis just great. I don't really have any suggestions for improvements. I used Hisey in October 2011 for a bunch of tree work and I was so very pleased and I will use them anytime I have tree work to be done.

On the 5th of July, 2013 I hired the Hisey Company to perform tree trimming service for my home. I did not get a chance to do a closing walk-through with the work crew that evening, but see that the work was not completed per the work request/contract. Furthermore, the crew accidentally cut down a healthy, 14-inch caliper, 25-foot canopy, 30-yr old cedar elm tree - they have now left an unsightly 12-foot stump standing in my backyard. I worked with Brian Hisey, the owner, to have 4 medium size crepe myrtles planted in my yard as a replacement. He also promised me free tree trimming service for as long as I continue to stay in my current home. Today is Aug 27, 2014 and he has kept his promise up until now and continues to do so. Thanks Brian, I would be happy to refer my friends to Hisey Company.

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

The most common type of job is removing the dead limbs that can break and leave open untreated wounds on the tree. This makes the tree a easy target for bugs and other pest to cause potentially serious health problems for the tree.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Check for professional reputation, and appearance. Resist the temptation to choose someone who is "in the area" without first verifying that they are reputable. As these are mostly fly by night sort of operations. Double check insurance, workman comp and experience. Verify that equipment is cleaned before they start cutting on your trees, as this is how fungus are spread. Check with references and ask about quality of service as well as follow thru. Never pay in advance, or partial payments up front. Ask if the service provider is a certified arborist, verify if they are with the agency they say granted their certification. Most tree services lie about this subject. Don't hire them because they lied to you, not as a result of their lacking certification.
