- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing structure isn't really complicated, I offer a wide variety of services and that makes it difficult to quote a project without all the information about that project in advance. Most illustrations, logos or presentation graphics can be quoted as a fixed cost because I know how long they should take to create. Websites and web graphics can be a little more difficult because they vary between clients. How many pages, etc. 1) I need to know is a website a brand new site or a rework of an existing site? 2) what are the underlying technologies you are using? IE. HTML5, do you want a responsive site, do you use a CMS (content management system like Joomla or Wordpress)? 3) is it an eCommerce site?
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I originally wanted to paint, draw and sculpt. When I got to college, I saw these amazing artists teaching to make a living because they were not making enough money from their art, I decided that I wasn't the starving artist type and that I needed a regular income. So I went into advertising/graphic design.
