Kathy was 9 years old and somewhat clumsy so her mother enrolled her in ballet to gain some poise. She was clumsy because she was extremely limber without muscle control. She immediately fell in love with ballet and said that's what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. Well, we altered it along the way but that's pretty much what she has done.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
The ability to teach a child doesn't mean the child is going to learn. A lot of it is chemistry and peer pressure. If the child likes and/or is willing to listen to the instructor and has a competitive nature, the battle is already won till that child is the leader. So the parent needs to be honest with the child and make sure that this something that the child wants to do, not what the parent wants the child to do, other wise it becomes a baby sitting service instead of a dance class.
