- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new customer I like to see how they learn. Since everyone learns differently it's important to target specifically how each student learns. For example, aone teachers believe that teaching a beginning student to read music is a must. I've seen time and time again that most people, when forced to learn to read music while starting out don't stick with piano very long. Since music is a language, with some students it should be taught as such. When we first learned to speak, someone didn't put a book in our hands and say “read”. They spoke to us until we started to develop a feel for the language and then we learned how to spell the words we knew such as cat, dog, and fish. The same is true with music.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Piano from The University of North Texas(minor in music theory). Since graduation, I have traveled the world with several national artists as a music director/keyboardist/pianist.
