- What types of customers have you worked with?
We at Cad / Cam Services are a WBE, high-end engineering scanning, and CAD conversion company. For example, consider your requirement of updating a Navy Vessel and all you have is a roll of blueprints, point cloud data (a 3D scan), or a box of aperture cards; and engineering needs real editable CAD files to update and modify. Cad / Cam Services can scan and convert this into intelligent, editable CAD data (most any CAD system like ShipBuilder/Constructor, AutoCAD, Unigraphics, SolidWorks, etc.) as either 2-D or full 3-D models. Cad / Cam Services is that conversion firm, and we are often a sub to the DOD industry and Aerospace companies. My firm worked with Robert Thawley @ Ingalls converting a Navy carrier from aperture cards into intelligent (in that case) AutoCAD drawings. This project contract was about $ 400,000, and we would like to do much more work like this for BIW. We have also converted a dozen various Coast Guard vessels for Bollinger Shipbuilding. We now provide: • Full support of ITAR and security clearance required CAD work. • Converting any legacy engineering drawings into intelligent CAD (Vector) files. o We support all major CAD systems like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Catia, and NX. o Including most all modules of ShipBuilder/Constructor o Includes full assemblies to an accuracy of .005” over any X, Y, & Z axis. o Drafting and 3D design outsourcing. o SBIR – Small Business Innovation Research • Data management PLM systems including SolidWorks, Catia (Dassault) and NX (UG). • Full-fledged 3D scanning services. o Converting point cloud data into editable CAD data. Validation Reverse Engineering o CMM, Arms, laser scanning of any size – down all the way to a .0002’ tolerance, up to full-size airplanes, and naval vessels. Also, our new CT large object scanner, allows us to check for voids in materials. o NDT services Including the scanning of NDT films, and sales of NDT digitizers. • Dimensional Inspection of Precision Manufactured Parts. • FEA of Manufactured Parts. Cad / Cam Services is heavy into existing DOD work. Anything the Air Force has in the air, we have scanned and converted. We have converted an Air Craft carrier for Ingalls, including several vessels for Bollinger of various Coast Guard and smaller Naval vessels, so we have done your unique style of work. We just are looking to be pointed in the right direction of whom we need to contact and some help to properly list our services. - What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Experience. There is no doubt you get what you pay for. There is a reason why 80% of our business is from existing customers. Do you wish to have your work done by experienced staff in the US that can stand up to FAAR and even Top Secert security clearance requirements, or send your work to India, or maybe China? Honestly we have tried overseas vendors. Over the last 20 years we find issues like China's native language is not English. So they have no idea what what proper English is supposed to be. They often fail even simple CAD English checking programs. Or India we commonly find late and very unprodictable quality. I will use the terms disinterested, or our favorite are the India folks who make a very impressive web site only to find they work out their apartment and get there friends to help them - and they know good and well you will never see them face to face. We have even found some that show an empressive office, only to find out it is not even there office it is a shutterstock purchased photo. We trademarked both : Cad Perfect and Cad Perfect CAD Conversion for a reason.
