FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes, I can be hired hourly, but can customize packages for clients needing something that falls outside of the limitations of a quote in Thumbtack. For example; extra lighting, additional camera person, special props, or location, etc.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When it comes to photography / videography I like to do a consultive call / meeting with client to discuss creative ideas, look at photo / video samples, shoot location(s), special requirements, set expectations, etc. Thoroughly planning a photography / video shoot and a clear communication are just as important as the final product. Some photographers / videographers take feedback / input personally. I do not and encourage clients to be completely honest with feedback / input on every aspect of a project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been primarily self taught, but spend hours watching training videos (Lynda.com / Youtube) and testing different photography shots / lighting. My photography mentors are Casey Withers and Mark Handy. I recently did a beach shoot / workshop with Casey Withers to work with models, lighting, and other technical aspects of working outdoors, using the sun, etc. In October, I'll be attending a two day workshop with Casey here in Dallas covering complex lighting and some higher end features of Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop. I'm also a 2nd cameraman for event shoots requiring photos / video. I have a professional product table / booth for shooting small items and recently purchased male / female mannequins for clients wanting to do higher end clothing / jewelry photos for ecommerce / print applications. * Casey Withers Media Group (very high end commercial and portrait photography) * Mark Handy Photography - Mark Handy is one of the top landscape photographers in the world with images selling in the $100k range. I am planning to take one of his workshops this year.
