I was so incredibly lucky to have Barbara as a trainer. Her experience, knowledge and previous jobs have guided her to an excellent trainer. She was exactly on time, just one visit has helped tremendously (and eager for the next three lessons) and very personable. Thank you Thumbtack and Barbara.Apr 25, 2017Verified
Barbara was a great trainer who took the time to show us various training methods. It is now up to us to work her plan and train our dog.Jan 9, 2017Verified

Barbara is extremely knowledgeable about animal training. I am very satisfied with how my dog has progressed in just a couple of lessons. I love how she uses positive reinforcement to create a fun learning environment for both my pet and myself.Jan 19, 2016Verified

- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I was a trainer with PetSmart for 8 years and I continue to read training studies and new techniques in professional journals. I am a member of Association of Professional Dog Trainers and an AKC certified Canine Good Citizen evaluator.
- How did you get started doing this type of work? After years of training my own animals (dogs, horses, etc.), I took a part-time job at a pet retailer in their horse department. (I had trained and competed my own horses in dressage. ) After nearly a year, one of their trainers left and I was asked if I was interested. I said "sure" and found that I love it.
