Very good service and they charged me what they quoted me. It would have been 5 stars but nobody returned my call when I called the 1st time. I called back a few days later and they came out the same day.

My home warranty contracted out with MrBadGuy. I have not received one phone call from them. I had to call them to schedule, call them to confirm, call them to find out why they were late, call them to find out why they haven't given the diagnosis to home warranty for approval, why they haven't picked up the parts....and it's been 7 days without the a/c and it's still not scheduled. Then they try to upcharge for a float switch (which I already had installed 9 months ago...). Albert seems to be the only person in the office who knows whats going on. Clean house and hire more Alberts.

A service technician (Santana) came out to my home today in regard to a service call placed by my warranty company (One Guard). My gas bill was significantly higher than previous bills so I was concerned I may have a leak - after having the gas company check things out, they recommended I have my furnaces checked to make sure they were functioning efficiently. From Santana's immediate arrival, he was argumentative about the price of gas and how the weather would cause the bill to go up, which I understood already... He proceeded to tell me that my warranty company told him I had no heat - which wasn't true because their work order specifically stated that the gas bill had been high and I was concerned about the efficiency of my furnaces. Within 5 minutes, Santana told me that my furnaces were fine. I asked about having tuneups done on them and was told that my warranty didn't cover that. I immediately went and looked at my coverage and discovered it is covered tho only during certain seasons. Throughout the entire visit, Santana was defensive and rude. I spoke to my warranty company at one point and their customer service rep seemed much more interested in getting to the bottom of the matter and helping resolve this concerning situation. She asked me more questions about the furnace units than the technician. It was recommended to me by her that the filters be replaced as that could be a problem and she also told me that they would offer a second opinion on the matter. I basically explained to Santana that my biggest concern was that he didn't ask any questions about how the units had been functioning nor did he offer any trouble-shooting suggestions. He told me my furnace was functioning fine - turning off and on - I already knew that. He said it's not his responsibility to make sure I'm changing the filters or maintaining it... Well, you are a heating and cooling TECHNICIAN (a professional)... I'm not. Last I checked, I'm a paying customer who is trying to figure out what could be the problem... Bad filters might be one of those things. He also told me that he didn't even look at the filter. Well, shoot. I paid you $60 to tell me that my furnace turns off and on? It was overall just a frustrating service call. I've never had a technician give so little feedback and seem less interested in helping. If that's the type of business Mr. Goodguy gives, they won't be recommended or referred by me. Thank you.

Our A/C went out on Sunday June 7. Our home warranty (HMS) couldn't schedule Mr Goodguy until Tuesday June 9, between 10 and 2. "Jose" showed up at 3:30. He diagnosed the problem (correctly it turned out) to be the Honeywell HZ311 zone controller which switches between our two upstairs and downstairs thermostats and opens and closes the two dampers. Jose then incorrectly reported to his office that we have two systems (there's only one furnace and one compressor...just two dampers to control the airflow)...our policy only covers a single system, so they wouldn't cover the repair. Jose then quoted us $980 to replace the controller...an item I later purchased online for $110 and changed out in 5 minutes. When we declined to pay $980, Jose charged us the $100 insurance deductible for the service call and left us in the heat. After he left I immediately removed the wires from the controller sitting on top of the furnace, connected one thermostat cable directly to the furnace cable (took the controller out of the circuit), left both dampers open, and got our A/C cooling the whole house down…something Jose could easily have done for us and didn't. I ordered the controller, replaced it two days later, and the system is fine. Jose had reported burn marks on the old controller...there were none. It seems Mr Goodguy really isn’t…they were only interested in extorting us while we suffered in the heat without A/C. I'll make sure they never set foot in my house again, nor in the house of anyone I know.

Our report to HMS (Cross Country Home Services) was not that you had two system in your home. A zone control that controls TWO PARTS of your home was diagnosed to be malfunctioning. Zone controls are not a covered under your Home Warranty Policy. As for the deductible that was collected, it was not imposed by our company but by HMS (Cross Country Home Services). Our service fee is $69 which is waived with recommended repairs. We do apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused and urge you to contact us directly for a further resolutions.

Ask many questions... A savy technician will answer every question you may have and help solve any problem before recommending a replacement unit. Be wary of any contractor who is unlicensed and or uninsured. Any one can say they are licensed, but not every one is. A very simple way to verify is to look at their work vehicle. All licensed contractors are require to post A (TACL #) on the side of their vehicle. If their is no number then they are most likely not licensed. Beware theirs a reason why their NOT licensed
