Introduction: The Texas Tutoring Team has 6 years of educational experience in helping students achieve their academic results. We tutor in-home or remotely and take away all distractions. We offer a free evaluation to identify a student's core issues and use our curriculum to create a unique plan for each student. Also, we are a locally-owned company. I enjoy helping students make progress with whatever subject need help. I get real joy watching students "get it" and go from struggling in a subject to mastering the subject and having confidence going forward in this subject. Often times the distractions of school and life make it hard to a student to focus and keep up in a subject. However, our philosophy is that each student can do well in math and we will work to make sure that happens for each student.

Above Grade Level has been great working with my son. They were very flexible when designing a plan and schedule just right for him. He was really struggling with Geometry and shortly after Above Grade Level started working with him he got an A on his next exam and an A the first 6 weeks after his sessions began. I have been unsure about a personal tutor, and Mike and his team made it so easy that I wish I would have hired one sooner!! He has worked with the unexpected changes from dates/times to changes in the subject matter of each session. Cody (our tutor) is always on time and prepared. Even after a month, we saw a noticeable improvement with his school work.

We charge by the hour and there are no hidden fees.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The Texas Tutor Team has its own tested curriculum developed over 30 years. We then offer a free evaluation, match this to our curriculum and then create a unique plan for each student. We communicate this plan and then agree with the parent/student on the best approach forward. We tutor 1:1 in home but also remotely. This approach allows us to focus on the opportunity areas and 1:1 tutoring removes distractions. Also, students tend to be more comfortable working with a tutor in their own home.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The Texas Tutor Team has been helping students for over 4 years. Before starting the Texas Tutor Team in northwest Houston, the owners spent several years helping educate their children as well as coaching several of their sport's team. We have a heart to find tutors like us that have the desire to significantly help students with the academic studies.
