Ross Tew is a terrific estate planning attorney with reasonable rates! He handled our complete Trust, Wills, Powers of Attorney, and more in a professional, timely manner. He took the time to come to our house and fit into our busy schedule and even came to our location for signing papers. He answered all our questions in a way we could understand legal issues and gave us confidence in everything he did. He is not always easy to reach, because he values his family time, but came through for us, even during the holidays.

Overall I had a very positive experience with the Lankford Law Firm. I was arrested for a second DWI in December of 2016 when I found Chris Lankford on this site. I went to a consultation where he walked me through the entire process and what different outcomes and scenarios I could expect depending on what the prosecution had as evidence. The pricing was fair and he seemed upfront and honest, so I hired him that day. Over the course of the next several months, he and his legal assistant kept me in the loop the entire time during the process. At each court date he explained to me what the other side had and what my options and choices were. He let me know my realistic chances of winning in a jury trial and ultimately left it in my hands to decide what to choose. I ended up with what I considered a very favorable plea deal considering the large amount of evidence against me. I would recommend him to others as a criminal defense attorney.

They were rapid with a response to my initial inquiry and to my response. They seem to be a very good firm but my concern was that I didn’t see a location in Dallas. I went with a local firm.

After being involved in an automobile accident and having worked for a personal injury attorney there was no better law firm than Ramey Law Firm to represent me. I know from experience that Hardin Ramey does his best to get you every penny you deserve and never takes more than the client. From the start I knew I was in good hands. I’ve had close friends whom I referred to Ramey Law Firm. Those friends sought out another attorney and regretted it in the end. They complained of not being able to speak to their attorney and when their case settled, the attorney took more of the settlement then them. It was heart breaking to hear this from them. I will always appreciate and respect Mr. Ramey for what he does for people going through a difficult time and refer everyone I know to Ramey Law Firm. He cares about his clients and is one of the best, truthful and honest attorneys in Dallas, TX.

My name is Dustin and I reached out to Mike for help with a few legal needs I had with my small business. Mike not only answered my questions but went above and beyond. He provided me with additional information to further assist me in the categories that I needed help with. He was friendly and I noticed that Mike was really trying to help me out and wanted the best for me and my business. I will definitely continue to use Mike for all my legal needs and will certainly refer him to those needing legal assistance.

    About

Not all Fort Worth criminal defense lawyers are the same. Some really are better than others. That may be obvious, but the difficulty for you is finding the best criminal defense lawyer for your unique criminal case. And just how are you supposed to know who’s the best lawyer for you? It’s not an easy task and given the stakes, it’s an enormous decision that may mean the difference between a great and poor result. Attorney Referrals For the past 20 years, the overwhelming percentage of my clients came to me because I was recommended by someone they respected. In fact, other attorneys have recommended many of my clients to me. These attorneys know me, the quality of my work, my reputation in the legal community and the results I have obtained for their friends, family and clients over the course of my career. Awards, ratings and top attorney lists are greatly appreciated, but for me personally, the highest form of compliment I can receive from my peers, is the faith and confidence they have in me by recommending and referring someone they care about into my professional care. It’s the highest form of compliment I can receive from another attorney. Repeat Clients and Client Referrals But as humbling and as greatly appreciated as attorney referrals are, without doubt, the absolute highest compliment I’ve received is the many repeat clients and former clients who’ve referred their friends and family. That has meant more to me than all the ratings and awards put together. Attorney Ratings Having practiced criminal law in Tarrant County, Texas my entire career, I can count on one hand an elite group of criminal defense lawyers that practice here in Tarrant County that I would refer my family members to should they ever have the need. And yet, often times, lawyers with six months experience and who’ve never even tried a criminal case are “rated” higher than those elite attorneys. So, please take attorney “ratings” with a grain of salt, save one: Martindale-Hubble has been professionally rating lawyers across the country for over a hundred years, and Martindale’s ratings are the ones lawyers and judges use when evaluating other attorneys. That’s because Martindale’s rating is peer reviewed, that is, it’s based upon reviews from other attorneys and judges. Martindale’s “AV Preeminent for Ethical Standards and Legal Ability” rating is the highest rating they award, and less than ten percent of attorneys across the country have this “AV” rating. If it’s not referenced in an attorney’s advertising, it’s a good sign they don’t have an AV rating. So ask. If you go to my website, you’ll see my AV rating is prominently displayed, not just for your benefit but for opposing counsel’s, as well. Other Factors To Consider When Evaluating A Criminal Defense Lawyer As an attorney, here are a few other things I’d want to know when deciding which attorney to hire. Where did they go to law school, how long have they been practicing criminal law in Fort Worth, are they a “jack of all trades and master of none?” In other words, does the lawyer focus solely on criminal defense or do they also handle car wrecks, divorces, wills, slip and falls…hopefully you get the picture. And last but certainly not least, what are their fees? Fees The old saying, “you get what you pay for,” is a still a good general rule of thumb. Let me try and put this into a legal context. When you pay an attorney, among other things, you’re paying for your attorney’s time and attention. I personally know many good criminal defense attorneys that have chosen to have preset, inexpensive fees and as a result, have hundreds of current, pending cases at any given time. Here’s the point: Even if you’ve hired the “best” attorney, if the attorney doesn’t have the time to spend on your particular case, you’re not getting his best. He’s simply spread too thin. If that’s the case, was the money you did pay well spent? When you’re facing “time,” you want your attorney to have the time to devote to your case. Personally, I cannot represent that many people at one time and give each my best. So, I made a decision early in my career not to fall into the trap of accepting tons of cases on the cheap. It’s not how I wanted to treat my clients, nor was it how I wanted to run my practice. Thank You I’d like to end my first blog by saying a heartfelt thank you to each and every client I’ve had the privilege and honor to serve and to the many attorneys who’ve honored me with their referrals through the years. Best, Bruce

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a personal injury lawyer?

A personal injury lawyer fights on your behalf if you’ve been injured physically, psychologically, economically or in reputation. This injury may be the result of neglect or malicious intent of another person, or it could be at the hands of a business, government or other entity. Personal injury lawyers specialize in tort law, which is the law of civil wrongs like car accidents, company wrongdoing, unlawful imprisonment and more.

To become qualified to be a personal injury lawyer in the United States, a person must earn a bachelor’s degree, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from a law school. Most states then require the person to pass the bar exam to become licensed to practice law. Unlike many attorneys who require a retainer, personal injury lawyers often work on contingency fees. This means that in lieu of payment upfront, they receive an agreed-upon percentage of the settlement in case of a win.

What should you look for in a personal injury lawyer?

A personal injury lawyer will advocate for your legal rights if you’ve been hurt in an accident at work or in daily life, have suffered from medical malpractice, or are struggling to have your insurance carrier cover your needs. It may be helpful to talk with two or three lawyers before selecting one. When looking for a personal injury lawyer, research their reviews and make sure former clients have had good experiences with them. Next, make sure the personal injury lawyer has experience and proven success winning cases similar to yours. Confirm that the lawyer is licensed to provide services in your state. When you find a qualified personal injury lawyer with whom you want to work, freely discuss payment and fees before any work begins. Most lawyers offer a free consultation to learn what your case is about and explain their rates. Personal injury attorneys typically receive a percentage of your settlement (called a contingency fee), so they are paid after the trial or case is complete. Keep in mind that some attorneys have fees that you must pay even if you don’t win your trial. It’s important to understand these details before work begins so you don’t have any unhappy surprises later. Lastly, it’s wise to choose a personal injury lawyer that you have confidence in and with whom you can communicate openly and honestly.
