My 12 year old son started taking guitar lessons with David when he was 9. I have watched his steady progression from a kid who wanted to play guitar to a kid who can play guitar. I like the method that David takes with the kids, allowing them to play songs they enjoy mixed in with songs that with develop them musically into a well rounded musician. He communicates via email with the parent and student as to what is to be practiced for the week. He has always been available via text as well. I find these to be helpful when questions arise during the week. Since beginning our guitar lessons, my older son has also begun piano with David along with my 7 year old as well. I have never worked with another music teacher but am extremely pleased with the work that David has done teaching my children music. Lastly, what I found to be important is a teacher who wants the kids to play music. At times this will be pushing them to try something they may not like because they need to do it in order to make them better (for my son that is alternate picking) and at other times that may mean compromising for a time to maintain their interest. I don't write reviews but David is definitely a teacher worth reviewing.

David has been teaching guitar to my daughter for a couple of years. He is very knowledgeable and patient. I would highly recommend him for guitar or piano lessons at any age level.

David is a fantastic teacher. He's patient and encouraging and he makes lessons fun! I learn something new every lesson. I know I am a much better uke player by taking lessons from him than I ever would have been learning on my own. I have already been performing in public and I haven't been taking lessons for a year yet! I can't imagine a better teacher than David. He has a gift for teaching and is an extremely skilled guitar player as well.

I couldn't have asked for a better piano teacher for my kids. David is not only a skilled teacher, but a true artist. He is very knowledgable about the technical side of music, and teaches this very well; in addition, he encourages creative expression and even walks beside my children as they explore and grow in that aspect of music. This combination of technical skill and artistic talent is not common, and a person who has the ability to teach all of this to others in addition to possessing these skills is even more rare. David has been that treasure to our family!

My daughter, Ariel has been taking guitar from David for a little over a year and a half now. She has learned so much in such a short time, and truly enjoys her lessons each week. He is so patient with her, even when she's not fully focused. The lessons have also helped her with her sight reading, which benefits her in band as well.
