FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most products I offer have standard pricing but each experience is tailored to the clients needs. Please contact me and I'll be happy to provide you with a detailed quote.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My experience with a new client generally begins with a phone call or email and I recommend a pre-portrait consultation that allows me and the client to discuss exactly what types of pictures will best suit their needs. I ask questions like - How do you envision your images? Are they color or black and white? What will you wear for your session and what will you do with the images? After this consultation, we set a date for the photo shoot. After the photo session or event, I edit the images and create a slideshow of the very best images for the client to choose from during their Portrait Reveal. During the Portrait Reveal, we go through each image on a television in the studio or at the client's home and decide how it will be used to serve the desires of the client - whether it's for a wall portrait, album, print or digital display. Most of my clients fall in love with all of their images and take advantage of our 3 month payment plan so they can have all of their products right away. The greatest compliments I get are "I didn't think you got that!" or "How did you get my husband to smile? He never smiles."
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied medieval history, paintings and architecture in High School and College. I read my camera manual thoroughly and had a hundreds of hours of trial and error, comparing my work to others. I've also taken many, many online courses and participated in photography groups over the years. As well as experience with a camera, I also believe a photographer should have a good understanding of human psychology, a store of good "clean" jokes and some business management classes.
