Toby drilled door bore holes and installed door handles on our new french doors. We needed a few floor planks installed but the flooring we received from the vendor was broken. Toby found a way to repair the few vinyl planks. I appreciate how resourceful Toby was in figuring out a way to make quality repairs at a reasonable price. I will hire him again for future projects. Thanks again!

The overall project turned out okay thus the three (3) rating. The process to get the project completed was very eventful. Below are a few things that really stood out. 1. Scheduling: Toby did not commit to time specific scheduling. Lost several hours waiting on him to show up. 2. Pricing: Learned of a 50% upfront payment when Toby finally arrived to survey the job. Online quote vs. actual was double the price. 3. Process: Toby did good work but was very sloppy! Spilled a gallon of paint on a green carpet floor. Didn't learn of this until I looked out my window to see him washing paint out of carpet after cutting a large piece from the floor. 4. Job Assessment: We ID'ed all areas requiring painting/texturing. Sent pictures in advance. He arrived and took more pictures, went to Home Depot on a 1 hour plus shopping trip. 5. Attention To Details: The spilled paint is a "deal breaker" for me especially after asking why no drip cloths shortly before the incident happened. His response, "we don't use drip cloths on SMALL jobs. Wow!!!!! 6. Corrective Actions: The big hole he cut in the carpet looks better than the original fix but still somewhat visible. I was told, "you want notice the cut in the carpet once repaired." Not true, as the padding is uneven and there is still evidence of the cut edges (see attached photo). 7. Clean Up: He left paint/texturing trails in every room (no drip cloths). He left trash in the bathroom trash cans. He washed paint brushes in the bathroom sinks and left them filthy. He washed paint in the front yard leaving paint stains in the driveway and on the curb. One of the more disappointing pros I have ever contracted. I think Toby has potential perhaps under supervision, but he is not someone I would hire again as an independent contractor. Again, I thought Toby did a good job texturing and painting. I was EXTREMELY disappointed with scheduling and clean up.
