I have recently stepped out and started my dream business (virtual bookkeeping and accounting services). My business is new but have been a tax preparer and accountant for over 20 years. I have an established client base, but I am always looking to expand my business and help people along the way. I have been in the accounting field for my entire career. I have worked in various industry and have held every position from accountant to CFO. I enjoy accounting and tax preparation because it's my opportunity to help people and give back to the community . Plus, I love numbers.

There are not words grand enough to express how much I enjoy working with Dora or how she cleared the cobwebs from my mind thus reducing the anxiety associated with taxes/ I.R.S. As a new small business owner, I was intimidated by what I needed to know financially to keep me organized and understand the steps needed to run a business properly. I suffer from chronic procrastination and Dora immediately helped me feel comfortable and never judged me. She suggested ways to improve my bad habits and work towards improving the future. Since then I have been listening to her advise and my business has began to see improvement in such a short period of time. Dora has far exceeded my expectations on how an accountant works with clients. My expectations are that an accountant should be: Knowledgeable, professional, easy to reach, trustworthy, experienced, and respectful. Dora is all those things, and more. The organizational and time saving aspects that Dora afford me and my business are priceless. As anyone who owns a business knows, finances and money stability are a necessary evil... Dora is definitely the answer.

I can't say enough how much of a pleasure it's been to work with Dora. She guided me through complicated and stressful tax situations with ease and made me feel completely sure about the work she was doing on my behalf. Whether in person or via email, the she is happy to be working with and communicating with you. You never feel rushed or like a burden. Her MO is to make the job look easy. This was the second year that I've had my taxes done by Dollars & Sense. Prior to using them, I dreaded the month of April because I had to pay back to the government more than $3000 each year. Since I'm retired, I questioned whether I was receiving the best advice about eligible deductions. This year, I still had to pay but only $99; all because they helped me to keep better track of what deductions were eligible. This year we've already planned a mid-year review to ensure I'm on track for getting the maximum in tax deductions. Thanks for the personal attention you've given and the exceptional tax advice. Still not crazy about April 15th! Yvonne

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We access the needs of the client and provide a quote. There are several factors that are taken into consideration. However, we talk with our customers and a provide the quote before we start work. Our first priority is our customer and we want them to understand and be comfort with the services we are providing.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We complete a customer intake form which includes a information form, phone calls to ensure customer needs are understood. If my company is hired an agreement outlining responsibilities of both parties is signed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors degree in Accounting. I have an Masters of Business Administration. I am currently taking the Certified Public Accountant exam. I have worked in the accounting field for over 20 years.
