First and foremost I want to apologize for the frustrations you experienced with your project, we'll be sure to learn from your constructive and detailed criticism to provide an even better service. However I do wish to shed some light behind the scenes. 1) We take pride in providing the most accurate quotes possible. I do not make it a practice to overcharge my client on materials. While it's a common practice, I do everything in my power to provide the absolute best price for my clients. In every situation, I would've quoted 2 pallets for the 888sqft, as 2.25 would've ran the risk of having over 100sqft of sod left over, that is material that my client's pay for and I do not want to waste any of my Client's hard earned money. 2) Zoysia is a premium sod, my primary supplier in Benbrook can only order the sod per pallet, not per piece. In order to supply the additional sod, I had to source the sod from a new supplier in Northern Dallas, over an hour away. I did not charge for transportation, or the additional labor. Simply what I paid for in the additional sod. Had I had quoted you 2.25 as you suggested, you would've ended up paying much more than what you currently have. I understand that having to pay more than what was originally quoted can be frustrating, I will do my part to ensure I never make a Client go through that. But it's impossible to calculate the sqft of the sod we're given in a pallet until it's placed. 3) Before we left the job site after installing the 2 pallets, we made sure to explain the situation to the Homeowners, they confirmed that they were fine with the job, and understood what had occurred. We did not leave a job 90% done. We accomplished what we quoted, the installation of 2 pallets of Zoysia Palisades, and left only after confirming with our client, and getting paid in full for our work.
