Introduction

I started learning Photoshop in the 8th grade, so when I picked up a camera after graduating from college in 2013, taking photos and being able to quickly edit them enabled me to be a natural in this department. I love capturing moments on camera and being able to give that moment to someone to remember it.

As a background, I have historically attempted to take my family’s portraits and photos in both private and public settings since 2014 using my own Canon EOS Digital SLR camera. Due to so many complicated variables impacting lighting, wind, distance clarity, movement, and color richness, I have never been able to optimally take photos without having to repeat photo shoots on a very time-consuming recurring basis. In addition to my own personal efforts, we also had previously hired selected professional photographers in the past with challenges in deficient photo quality and excessive costs. After receiving a referral to Joanne’s work at Depon Photography and reading multiple positive online reviews, I contacted Joanne to personally discuss her photography background and services as well as her professional recommendations given our family’s portrait objectives for the upcoming holidays. From the outset, Joanne was so exceptionally generous and accommodating and provided so many invaluable recommendations based on her experience on the time of day in which photos should optimally be taken, best style and color of clothing for our family to wear, common poses for family photos, and key aspects to consider when choosing a specific photo shoot location. Joanne also was willing to plan an additional 2 photo shoot dates and times in advance upfront of our actual scheduled photo shoot day, just in case poor weather were to arise unexpectedly. On November 10th, the day of our scheduled family photo shoot, Joanne went above and beyond what any of us expected, and she first surveyed the photo location because it was a unique, but not well known, outdoor shopping center location we had selected which had multiple variations of landscaping and light coverage, including rocky terrain, bridges, lakes, animal statues, flowers, and trees. Based on her review of the location considerations, Joanne confidently suggested multiple family photo poses at targeted sites, and to our additional surprise, Joanne immediately began to stand at a prescribed distance so she could optimally shoot our family photos to enhance our personal image clarity while simultaneously preserving a soft blended view of the awesome landscape background! Her experience in this regard was very evident and genuinely appreciated! The photo shoot progressed very efficiently and Joanne allocated an entire 72 minutes to the family photo shoot to ensure a diverse range of family and individual photos were taken in the context of all surrounding background considerations desired. At the conclusion of the photo shoot, Joanne indicated that we could expect the electronic images within one week and for us to call her if we had any questions or concerns. Even with her extremely busy schedule, Joanne efficiently turned around 28 outstanding, eye-catching photo images within just a day of the photo shoot! The photos were all extremely clear and vibrant in nature! In addition, we did not expect to receive so many exceptional-quality images! From past experiences, other professional photographers would only provide 2 – 4 photo images for an unjustifiable high cost, and even then, those photo images were excessively edited so that the photos were unnatural in appearance. With all of Joanne’s truly outstanding photo images, all of them had brilliance in color depth, clarity of individual family members, and landscape background richness of the photo sites used! Even after the initial 28 photos were delivered, Joanne was very accommodating and patient in searching for additional photos on behalf of our family, and she subsequently provided several more phenomenal photos of my wife in selected poses and background settings. Finally, Joanne even proposed some canvas and glass photo print options she could assist our family with going forward if we wanted to have different family memory themes. In summary, we are immeasurably pleased and truly happy with Joanne’s longstanding commitment, preeminent photography expertise, and all of her conscientious efforts on behalf of our family throughout this entire professional photography experience. We are certainly going to continue to engage Joanne for her professional photography services in the future, and we also unconditionally recommend Joanne’s distinguished photography expertise and quality to all others going forward with our most profound compliments!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I also can help with hair and makeup. In an hour session I usually get at least 10 good photos. For same day pictures, I can also provide a quote!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first 10 to 15 minutes can be a little awkward, but after that, the poses usually come together much better.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked graduations, engagements, head shots and even architecture.
