Introduction: Thanks for contacting Circle D Ranch LLC. Circle D Ranch has been in operation the last 23 years and offers western riding, roping, barrel racing lessons and learning how to drive cattle on horseback Monday through Saturday each week. Private lessons are $55 per hour and group lessons are $45/hour or you can purchase four group lessons for $160 which brings the per lesson price to $40. Payment is due before getting on the horse. Circle D Ranch accepts either cash or a check (along with your Driver's license number).
The first lesson is an assessment lesson and is required to be a private lesson (unless you’re starting out as a group). In the first lesson, I go over all the fundamentals and demonstrate how I've trained my horses then we go out on a trail ride. My group lessons are small with no more than three riders and I try to keep the riders within a group all at the same riding level. To qualify for group lessons you need to be comfortable riding at a lope, as all my group riders ride at a lope. My roping lessons are mostly all private lessons unless you have a friend who wants to rope with you. All riders must be at least eight years of age and must weigh under 230#s.
My lessons are scheduled in the afternoons at 3:00, 4:00 and 5:00 on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday my lessons are scheduled at 10:00, 11:00 and 12:00. (The Saturday lessons can be difficult to get into as I have a number of riders who can only ride on Saturdays). I send out a proposed riding schedule each Saturday evening for the week ahead. Riders then email me back as to whether or not they can make the proposed riding time.
I prefer for new students to come out to the ranch first for a visit and to make sure you think my program is going to work for you. Here are the directions. Please call first to make sure I'm going to be there to show you around and answer your questions.
My ranch is located at 1021 CR 217 Collinsville, TX 76233. You can google Circle D Ranch North and Google Maps will take you right to my front gate. When you get to the ranch you'll see a black pole with a big tractor tire on it and a "D" in the center for Circle D Ranch. The gates will be closed but not locked. Just open up the gates, drive through, close the gates behind you.
