Introduction: Hey there 👋🏼
Thanks for visiting Houston’s Most Versatile Partner Dance Studio!
Z Dance was founded in 2022 by Michael Zepeda after working for Arthur Murray and other large studio chains for almost two decades. After seeing what clients liked and disliked at each studio, we were able to create a versatile syllabus designed for people of all ages, abilities, and levels.
We wanted a space that provided all the competition training in the world, but didn’t force students who didn’t want to compete, into competitions.
We wanted a space that didn’t discourage the lack of structure in most social dancing, but also provided opportunity and education to those who wanted to do more than just get by.
We wanted a space filled with instructors to choreograph the most gorgeous, unforgettable wedding dances, but also a place that was inclusive to all events needing choreography, like Quinceañeras, Charity Balls, and more.
We wanted a space where our students could come and dance without a sales pitch, without breaking the bank, without the pressure of being perfect, and without the stress of scheduling X amount of lessons each week for reasons that were completely irrelevant to them; ✨ we wanted a space that our students WANTED to be in. ✨
And from that, Z Dance LLC was born.

Michael is not only incredibly friendly and talented as a dance instructor but also runs a clean, spacious dance studio that we absolutely recommend to anyone!My wife and I took private lessons for our wedding - ALL of our guests raved about our dance even though we dont have formal dancing experience. He helped personalize our song (a medley of two completely different genres) and choreographed a dance that we were comfortable with. Even his pricing was reasonable / competitive - it was lower than multiple quotes from outside studios for the same time.Michael and Hannah (studio manager / staff) were prompt to respond to any questions / requests and they used a great scheduling system that sent reminders and updates on our appointments. My husband and I have zero dance experience, but we wanted to make sure our first dance was something memorable. They choreographed our dance for us to give us an idea of what it might look like but our actual dance evolved based on our own dancing capabilities. We started with 10 45ish min lessons but extended it to 15 towards the end to get the details perfect. We worked with Michael, which worked out great because we felt my husband needed more guidance as a leader than myself as a follower. Michael was an excellent instructor and after every lesson, we were impressed at our progress. Hannah was our point of communication and was very responsive if we needed to change our lesson or ask for access to the ballrooms (included in our package to practice solo). They have lesson specials and will work with your budget. They also do group social dancing classes at their studio. Our first dance turned out great and had many people tearing up and gasping at the key moments. And to quote one of our friends, the lift (which we were skeptical we would even be able to pull off) was “the most manly thing [my husband] has ever done.” Definitely well worth the expense!

Michael and Allison are top-notch! My fianc and I purchased a package of private classes for our wedding first dance. We received attention to detail, friendliness, positivity, and of course a beautiful dance. We now feel so confident taking on our first dance together, and we couldnt have done it without the team at Z dance! 10/10!!

Highly recommend Z Dance. Hannah and Michael are great. I had very little dance experience prior to my lessons with Michael. Hes been extremely helpful with building my dance skills. Each lesson flows smoothly and builds off of the previous lesson seamlessly. Hes patient and makes every lesson fun. Their sudio is always in great condition and has beautiful windows. Definitely worth the investment.
